Honors House

The Honors House is located in NIU's New Residence Hall Complex, which features space for 200 in 12-person “cluster-style” living where students have a common kitchen and living room, in-cluster laundry, semi-private bathroom, and private bedroom. In addition, special programming for Honors House residents is offered each semester. In the past programming has included trips into Chicago to Navy Pier, Shakespeare, Blue Man Group, Second City, Broadway in Chicago and the Shedd Aquarium.

The Honors House enjoys a unique atmosphere where residents share a commitment to their academic pursuits, yet come from a wide variety of backgrounds and academic disciplines. If you would like to receive more details on living in the Honors House, please send an email to
