Legal Name Change

Preferred/Proper Name Change

If you identify by a name other than your legal name, it is recommended that you obtain a new OneCard ID to match the new name for identification around campus. You must first set up a preferred/proper name through Self Service in MyNIU (see how to set a preferred name instructions). Within one business day after being updated with the University, you will be able to stop by OneCard ID Services to get your new card.
If you bring in your current OneCard ID requesting a new name be printed, a $10.00 fee will be assessed for producing a new card. If you have lost your current OneCard ID, the cost of the card is $20.00.
