CPR/First Aid

The NIU Department of Police and Public Safety believes each member of the community is able to save a life with the proper training. That is why we teach First Aid and CPR for both community members and health care professionals alike. We want to give you the necessary skills in case a medical emergency arises.

We hold classes at several locations in the area on a first come, first served basis. Early registration is highly recommended due to the limited availability (8 per CPR class) of the classes and instructors.

Once registered, you will receive a confirmation via email including information regarding the required CPR book for the class. Students are required to pay $5 for the American Heart Association CPR Certification Card. The CPR Certification Card fee is due at the beginning of the student’s CPR class and is payable by cash or check. All CPR students are expected to purchase and bring the required CPR book to the CPR class.

If our classes do not meet your schedule, please reach out to the American Red Cross regarding their available classes.
